If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department. In the U.S., call or text 988 for the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline.
If There Is Immediate Danger
Call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
Use emergency services when there is an immediate risk of serious harm, a medical emergency, severe confusion, loss of consciousness, violent behavior, or another situation requiring urgent in-person intervention.
988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
In the United States, call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline. Support is available for people experiencing suicidal thoughts, emotional distress, substance-use crisis, or concern about someone else.
Brightwave Is Not an Emergency Service
Website forms, appointment requests, voicemail, email, and routine telehealth appointments are not continuously monitored and should not be used for emergencies or urgent crisis communication.
During a Telehealth Visit
If an urgent safety issue arises during a telehealth visit, the provider may recommend emergency evaluation and may contact emergency services or a designated emergency contact when legally and clinically appropriate.
If You Are Worried About Someone Else
If you believe another person is in immediate danger, call 911. You may also contact 988 for crisis guidance and support in the United States.
After the Immediate Crisis
After urgent safety needs have been addressed, contact the practice to discuss appropriate follow-up care. Emergency evaluation does not replace ongoing psychiatric treatment.
